Recorded in the dark. Could not sleep. Something about the word "vessel" that I kept returning to. The Shell provides the vessel. The Ghost fills it. This is where that line started.
November 2024First full draft of what became Ghostwriter in the Shell. Three verses, completely different chorus. The final version kept almost none of this. The concept survived. The execution did not.
November 2024Note to self: the word AI in a song title reads as gimmick unless everything else earns it. The song has to be so good that the title becomes a statement, not a label. Set the standard first. Name it second.
December 2024Humming a melody I had no way to render at the time. Placeholder recording. Still looking for the right shell for this one. The concept is strong. The execution has not found its vessel yet.
December 2024Reworked the second verse completely. The first two versions were too angry without being precise enough. Anger without precision is just noise. Draft 3 found the right temperature.
January 2025The album needs to break in the middle. Not a pause. An actual break. Something has to die before the second half starts. The Ghost Writes ends unresolved. The Shell Speaks begins in the wreckage of that.
